The Marianist Trust launched the Chaminade Rural Development Project (CRDP–Budakata) with a special focus on empowering the socially and economically marginalized families of Bringatoli and the sorroundings. The programme seeks to enhance educational opportunities, vocational skills, and sustainable livelihoods, particularly among rural and tribal communities.
CRDP–Budakata was formally inaugurated on 15 April 2013 by Managing Trustee at Budakata Village in Sundargarh District, Odisha. The centre is strategically located about 40 kilometres from Sundargarh on the road to Rourkela, along National Highway 10, making it accessible to neighbouring villages. The surrounding region is an important industrial belt with several steel, cement, and rubber manufacturing units, which significantly influence the local economy and living conditions. The total number of beneficiaries is 58
Since its inception, CRDP–Budakata has been committed to equipping young people with the knowledge and skills needed for personal growth and employment. The centre offers spoken English classes, computer education, tailoring and vocational skill training, and personality development programmes. Through these initiatives, the programme empowers youth, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, to pursue higher education, secure meaningful employment, and become active contributors to the development of their families and communities.
